I last saw Dr. Ntozake Shange on the night of her reading event which I organized, in St. Louis, at the Missouri History Museum on April 25, 2017. It had been awhile since Dr. Shange visited St. Louis. Friends, family, and the community were eager to see her. I was privileged to stay with her on the first night of her visit to assist her and be in her company. June 4: DuEwa Features at Women for Peace Event
The June mega-event will feature music, poetry, and spoken word; including performances by Lightning, Nostylgic Linez, Pamela Garvey, Allison Cundiff, Fifth Degree, Dani Skye, Bell Darris, Joss Barton, Nailah, and Ellen Cook. There will also be a live performance from Special Guest DuEwa Frazier. 9/30 DuEwa features @ ArtsFest
DuEwa will be a featured poet at ArtsFest on Saturday, September 30th at 12:50pm in Manchester, MO. The festival is free and open to the public. The festival will feature various visual , performance, literary and other artists. DuEwa's poetry set will be accompanied by jazz musician Kendrick Smith.
